Anil Deshmukh

Mr. Anil Vasantrao Deshmukh currently serves as the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Works in the Government of Maharashtra state, India.[1] He has represented Katol, Nagpur district on behalf of the Nationalist Congress Party in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from 1995.[2][3]

Political career

He has been an undefeated cabinet minister in the Indian state of Maharashtra for a record 5 times since 1995, even during Shiv Sena Government. He had served as chairman of Nagpur Zila Parishad during initial years of his political career. He holds a master of science degree in Agriculture from Nagpur University.[4]

He is an alumnus of The College of Agriculture, Nagpur. This college has now shiefted affiliation to Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapith (agriculturl university), Akola. He hails from a village Vad Vihira, which is near Katol in the Nagpur district.

Personal Life

He had lost his father Vasantrao Deshmukh, a rich farmer in himselves childhood. He was brought up by his uncle. He did schooling at Katol Highschool, Katol. He is married to Mrs. Arati Deshmukh from whome he has two sons and one daughter. His daughter is MBBS. His son Mr. Salil Deshmukh is active in politics. He is district level chairman of Rashtravadi Congress party.
